In a separate incident, law enforcement made arrests during demonstrations supporting Palestine near an Israeli diplomatic office.

Obama: ‘We are ready for a President Kamala Harris’

Barack and Michelle Obama tag-teamed the Democratic National Convention (DNC) on Tuesday night to urge Americans to rally behind Kamala Harris right before her last-minute presidential race against Republican end-of-term-er Donald TrumpолжComментарии

For America’s first Black president Obama, who has thrown his immense political heft behind Harris as she looks to chart history on November 5 by becoming the country’s first female and maiden black and South Asian Commander-in-chief.

We do not need more or bluster and bumbling chaotic. Their campaign was like a scratched record, and we’ve all heard that song before.” along similar lines Obama told the Day Two of Chicago convention.

America is ready for change. America is desperate for a better story. And we are here for a President Kamala Harris.

After mocking Trump, the Republican who succeeded him in 2017 and complimenting President Joe Biden — his former vice president was pushed out of this year’s contest by Democratic allies worried he would lose to Trump in November.

Joe Biden, History will judge Joe Biden as a President who saved democracy from the brink of disaster. He called him “my president” then paused before adding: even prouder to call you my friend, man.” It brought a lengthy cry of ‘We love Joe!’

He was introduced by Michelle Obama, the woman most Democrats hope they can persuade to run for president someday.

“America, hope is making a comeback,” Michelle Obama said, with a nod to her husband’s first presidential campaign in 2008.

In no uncertain terms, she warned that Trump will “spend the most time trying to distort your competing business,” similar to how he did withhtmleverything in his power for create people fear us.”

Monáe paused and looked the camera directly in the eyes, before adding to raucous applause: “The idea that they belonged seemingly did not occur to him.

I mean, who is going to be the one that has. thee honors of letting him know with an interview that he may have just applied for another little ‘Black job?’ she asked. Trump has on the campaign trail called migrants who cross into the US “replacing Black jobs.”

From questions about Obama’s citizenship to Birtherism, Trump has never been above trading in racism and took a similar path with Harris.

Obama, 63, was instrumental in the messy deliberations that caused Biden to drop out of the race last month and endorse Harris.

AT DNC Harris fires shots at Trump

Harris, 59 Golden State candidate who has Santa Monica philanthropist Susie Tompkins Buell on her side, is instead riding a whirlwind in which the campaign set fundraising records and packed arenas with voters.

Harris appeared via video from a campaign rally in Milwaukee. A sign saying “FREEDOM” in Wisconsin paralleled the signs of supporters who put them up from delegates on floor at Chicago event.

Harris and her vice-presidential selection, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz appeared in the same Milwaukee arena where Trump accepted his party’s nomination last month.

In her remarks, Harris lambasted Trump for asserting he did not regret the 2022 US Supreme Court decision that reversed an earlier court ruling in Roe v. Wade from 1973 which reognized women’s constitutional right to abortion. The 6-3 majority on the high court included three Trump-appointed justices.

People break the law, people get a consequence I fully agree with that you know bad behaviour should result in a consequence And certainly we’re going to ensure that he does have a consequence, and that will be at the ballot box in November,” Harris stated.

During this campaign, Democrats view abortion rights as a winning issue and Harris has been at the tip of that spear in her role as vice president.

    Palestine demonstrators apprehended

Near Chicago’s Israeli consulate, pro-Palestine protesters also picketed outside a venue where Netanyahu spoke and far-left activists briefly scuffled with police after about 50 of them broke off from the larger protest to press against officers in riot gear. A Reuters witness said several arrests were made.

This week, protests against the US support for war in Gaza have dominated the convention… but very few speakers would touch that issue.

The unprovoked response from the audience to US Senator Bernie Sanders, who said “We need an immediate ceasefire” and that America is in a must-win position against terrorism.
