“Met Forecasts Squally Weather and Rain in Bengal’s Coastal Districts from May 24”

The Meteorological Department has forecasted that coastal regions of West Bengal will experience squally weather and rainfall starting May 24. Fishermen have been advised to avoid venturing into deep waters from May 23 due to the development of a low-pressure system in the Bay of Bengal, which is expected to intensify into a depression.

As a result of this low-pressure system, gusty weather with wind speeds exceeding 45 kmph is likely to affect the coastal areas of Purba Medinipur and South 24 Parganas in West Bengal from May 24. Additionally, these districts may encounter thunderstorms up until May 25, according to the Met department.

“Pune Car Accident Case: Three Accused Remanded to Police Custody Until May 24”

A local court on Tuesday placed three individuals—one restaurant owner and two managers—in police custody until May 24 in connection with a car accident involving a 17-year-old boy that resulted in the deaths of two people. The accused, Naman Pralhad Bhutda, owner of Cosie restaurant, and managers Sachin Katkar and Sandip Sangle from Blak Club hotel, were presented before the court.

The prosecution argued for a seven-day custody, stating that the accused’s establishments served alcohol to the underage boy and his friends without verifying their ages. After considering arguments from both sides, Additional Sessions Court Judge SP Ponkshe ordered the three to remain in police custody until May 24.

According to police, a Porsche car allegedly driven by the intoxicated teenager struck two motorcyclists in Pune’s Kalyani Nagar area early Sunday morning, resulting in their deaths. The victims were identified as Anish Awadhiya and Ashwini Koshta, both 24-year-old IT professionals from Madhya Pradesh.
