Saudi Arabia has requested for the observation of the Zil Hajj moon on Thursday in order to signify the commencement of a fresh Islamic month.
The Supreme Court of the kingdom released a statement on Wednesday, urging residents to observe the moon on the night of June 6, as reported by Al Arabiya.
The sighting can be done with or without the help of binoculars, the publication added.
If anyone spots the crescent moon, they are requested to inform the closest court and record their testimony.
According to the Saudi Press Agency, the Supreme Court has expressed optimism that individuals with the ability to observe the crescent moon will actively engage in the committees established in various regions. Their participation in such endeavors will be beneficial to the Muslim community.
In the meantime, in Pakistan, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee anticipates observing the sighting of the Zil Hajj moon on Friday, June 7th.
