A few days after the conviction of Republican presumptive nominee Donald Trump in a hush money case, President Joe Biden addressed the matter for the first time on Monday during a fundraiser in Greenwich, Connecticut.

The 81-year-old Biden told the donors: “For the first time in American history, a former president that is a convicted felon is now seeking the office of the presidency.”

Joe Biden expressed concern that his Republican adversary represents a threat to freedom, which deeply worries the Democrat.

In his remarks on Donald Trump’s criticism of the U.S. judicial system, Biden commented, “While this is troubling, what is even more harmful is the full-scale attack that Donald Trump is launching on the American justice system.”

A report from the New York Post reveals that the Democrat president has expressed concerns about the potential threat posed by 77-year-old Trump in his second attempt at the White House. The president believes that Trump is more dangerous now than during his first term because he may seek revenge for his 2020 election defeat and the subsequent criminal charges he has faced.

“Something changed in him after his defeat in 2020,” Biden remarked, adding, “He can’t come to terms with his loss, and it’s evidently driving him to madness. He appears to be completely unhinged.”

“The president remarked that following his criminal convictions, it is evident he is now concerned about maintaining his liberties.”

Biden’s fundraiser event comes after his rival revealed that his campaign raised a massive amount in recent days since his conviction.

The Republicans reported raising close to $53 million in donations, bringing their total to $141 million for May.
