New Delhi: Junaid Khan, the eldest child of Aamir Khan, is preparing for his first appearance in the Indian film industry. He has been cast in Siddharth P. Malhotra’s upcoming historical drama titled ‘Maharaj’, alongside Jaideep Ahlawat and Shalini Pandey. The production of the film is being handled by Aditya Chopra’s YRF Entertainment. Recently, the film’s release date was unveiled along with a fresh poster, much to the anticipation of fans.
Siddharth P. Malhotra’s film ‘Maharaj’ draws inspiration from the infamous 1862 Maharaja Libel Case. Produced by Netflix and Yash Raj Films, this captivating movie showcases the brave actions of journalist Karsandas Mulji. The highly anticipated premiere of ‘Maharaj’ is scheduled for June 14th.
The initial glimpse image was revealed on Instagram on May 29th. The accompanying text states, “The battle for authenticity between a prominent individual and a courageous reporter. Inspired by real-life incidents – Maharaj will be available for streaming exclusively on Netflix starting from June 14th!”
The summary of the ‘Maharaj’ states: In 1862, during a period when India had only three universities, Rabindranath Tagore was just one year old, and the Sepoy Mutiny of 1857 was still fueling the fight for independence. Despite facing numerous challenges, a single individual bravely takes a stand in a groundbreaking legal battle. This remarkable true story has recently been uncovered in Maharaj, over 160 years later. Sharvari Wagh has a cameo role in the movie.
Junaid Khan is the son of Aamir and his former wife Reena Dutta. He was born in 1994. Currently, Junaid is involved in two upcoming projects. One of them is “Pritam Pyaare,” where Aamir will be making a significant cameo appearance, and this project will also mark Junaid’s debut as a producer. Additionally, Junaid is being supported by Aamir Khan Productions for an upcoming film that will feature Sai Pallavi as well.
