PM Modi’s Two-Hour Lok Sabha Address Eluded Key Issues, Say Opposition Critics
Congress leaders are crying foul over reports that accuse the Prime Minister of sidestepping key national issues and peddling falsehoods in his marathon two-hour Lok Sabha speech.
Reacting to the speech, Congress leader Bhupesh Baghel said: “Rahul Gandhi’s arrow has struck at the right place.” PM Modi replied to the debate on the Motion of Thanks to President’s Address during his speech, which according Congress leaders was full of barbs against PM taking level wars but had no content.
Hitting out at the PM, Baghel said that Hindu religion is non-violent and Modi has been uttering lies. Saying “PM Modi’s speech I heard on the news bulletins today is a clear enough indication that he has gone Crazy.
Congress leader Supriya Shrinate disappointed with Prime Minister Modi to deliver the speech instead of reacting over reports – daughter just died in stampede, 107 lost their lives I expected that the PM must had been prior information me and his speech would have ended after 2 hours and 14 minutes. But he declined to do so,” Shrinate said.
Amethi MP KL Sharma hit out at the repetitive nature of Modi’s speech. “There was nothing new. “Modiji ne jo sambandhit gaanonki yeh details thodey na batayi which congress waalo twit kiye gungunaye”, stated Sharma.
INDIA Group ally Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav hinted to the lack of government’s clear stance on vital issues. “Such excuses could well have formed part of his speech today as PM… farmer’s income doubled, government stand is not clear,” Yadav said.
Deepening the contradiction between two oldest political parties of nation,Wife of Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal and Akali Dal MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal said is more concerned with what Rahul Gandhi says than to underline National issues on today! ‘For nearly two hours, he spoke only about Rahul Gandhi In this case, who is going to talk about country? Narendra Modi at Rahul Gandhi, and Rahul on Narendra Modi Who speaks of countrymen? India wanted to know how they would tackle unemployment, problems of farmers and rising inflation,” Badal said.
Congress MP Manish Tewari further said that the Prime Minister avoided serious issues. “Tewari: The Prime Minister did not speak about China, the terror attacks in Jammu or how badly criminal laws are being implemented and therefore, there was nothing of substance in what he said”
Meanwhile the opposition’s reactions demonstrate their irritation with where they see the Prime Minister placing his attention, and at what was lacking in real content to address today – showing that there are still some miles between how this government spins things versus what is really hurting Australia.
